70 million dollar fair expectation in shoes

Domestic and international fairs open the door to exports. 
Approximately 400 foreign professional buyers from 20 countries 
will meet at the 9th Eksposhoes Shoe Saddlery and Fashion Fair 
to be held at the Istanbul Pullman Congress and Exhibition Center 
between 16-19 April. The fair, in which 60 manufacturers will 
participate, is expected to contribute approximately 70 million
 dollars to total shoe exports.

At Eksposhoes Shoe Fashion Saddlery Fair held in Serik district of Antalya, women’s boots with ‘No War’ written on them with special stones attracted attention. Berke İçten, President of the Turkish Shoe Manufacturers’ Association (TASD), said, “We wish that there would be no war anywhere in the world and that peace would prevail, like all humanity.”

The goal is to export 1.5 billion dollars in shoes.

The shoe industry, which achieved 328 million dollars in exports in the first quarter of the year, wants to reach its goal of 1.5 billion dollars at the end of the year. The importance of domestic and international fairs in exports is high. Eksposhoes Shoe Fashion Saddlery Fair, held in a hotel in Belek tourism center in Serik, opened the Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association (IDDMIB) President Güven Karaca, TASD President Berke İçten, Shoe Supply Industry Association (AYSAD) President Sait Vakkas Salıcı and Eksposhoes Erkan Demir, Chairman of the Board of Directors. ‘Peace Shoes’ was designed special for the 12th fair, which was visited by a total of 800 foreign buyers from 26 countries. The shoes, on which ‘No War’ was written with special stones, attracted attention.

European and Turkish Republic global buyers, who could not procure shoes due to the increase in freight and raw material prices from China, turned their route to Turkey.
